FLINTLOCK PISTOL (LEFT-HANDED), 18TH CENTURY.

Item nr:1129L

18th Century

DETAILS

Reproduction of a metal and wooden flintlock pistol with simulated loading and firing mechanism.

The spark pistols had a flint or flint stone which, when triggered by the hammer, produced the spark that ignited the gunpowder. All these weapons required manual reloading of their ammunition after each shot. The ammunition, which was inserted through the muzzle of the barrel, consisted of powder, taco shell and paper, which was used to keep the tablets taken the previous two in the barrel

THE GUN DOES NOT FIRE

HISTORY

These pistols were used as self-defense weapons until the middle of the 19th century. Their effective range was short and often used as a complement to a sword or knife. Spark pistols were subject to many problems compared to modern weapons, due to moisture or accidental blows.

In combat, these weapons were usually used for a single shot because the reloading method was very slow and it was usually not time to reload. As a result, fighters after firing were forced to draw their sabres or swords or use the pistol as a blackjack, since circumstances did not allow for reloading in time.

Relive with the historical reproduction of this DENIX pistol the best battles of the 18th century!
